PS3 Teams are SLOWING Down

Looks like over the past couple weeks production has gone from 450,000 points a day to 300,000 points a day as interest is dying down...

Woo, not so good for Stanford, but good news for us!
Maybe its just a fad, or people are starting to get their electric bills!

Or they jsut want to play games! I read it takes somewhat 8hours of work. Supposingly they are working to reduce that time to make it more easy for ps3 users to fold. Truth is that wether your pc or ps3 fold 24/7 you are just gonna get one hell of a bill..
I got a nasty one lately.. downloading and a boinc project.. Now the pc stays turned off at night :p

actually pcs dont use all that much electricity.
Right now my battery backup says I am using 210watts of power with my amd 3000+ running 24/7 folding and a 19" Samsung lcd monitor, epson scanner, dsl modem, switch, router, and a canon printer hooked up.
I bet my c2d will use more

, but still not very much.
How many watts is that microwave you use a LOT ?

On my electric it woudl be this...
Generation Charges - .046060 pkwh
Transmission Charges - .001720 pkwh
Distribution Charges - .030290 pkwh
Transition Charges - .007670 pkwh
Total per kilowatt hour of electricity is - .08574
so figure 250watts for a computer or ps3 running so 250X4 = 1kilowatt hour, and 24/4 = 6, so 6 kilowatt hours per day to run.
6X.08574 = .51444 - daily charge
.51444 X 365 = 187.7706 - yearly charge
187.7706 / 12 = 15.64755 - monthly charge
so about $16 a month to run a ps3 or computer - now if you have those massive overpriced video cards your wattage ussagei s going to be a bit higher ;)
All in all it probably costs you more every month to turn on and off your lights than it does to run a computer.
Oh my bill was $100.15 and that included $6.67 Customer Charge and $1.31 State Tax Surcharge. So for 3 desktop computers, 1 laptop, and all the rest of the electricity in our house ( kid is 18 so she uses ALOT lol ), that is all we paid. I cant see how people complain about electric bills and running computers 24/7.
Our heat is Gas except the one in my computer room, and that probably uses more than my computer does in a month!!

Those are the rates for me here in PA, so yours might be different - If it is cheaper, and you have a spare bedroom, I will move in :p

Hehe its pretty different here. The charge is per 4 months. Besides, even if it was cheaper it wouldnt be possible to profit from it for some years cause of the plane tickets :p:p
Anyway, its a bit more complicated (and more expensive) as it depends on overall consumption. Here this will give you a hint if you multiply by 1,34

Alot of people are probably kinda scared to leave their 600+$ console running 24/7 ;)

um why? you let a $3000 furnace run 24/7, air conditioners, computers, clocks, etc
I still live by my little phrase - When does a light bulb blow, when you turn it on - same with computers and electronics - tunring power on and off is harder on the electonic device than it is to leave it run.
