Recently picked up a Lenovo 3000 J Series computer, has windows Vista in but the person who had it before me put in 3 passwords, for each person who used it . So now I am unable to log on. My question is this with out reformatting is there anyway to get the password taken out .

Re: Unsure
not to familiar with vista but there are probably 2 things you can do. hack it, or go back to the original owner and ask him for the pass words

If the Administrator's account isn't disabled on the PC, you can boot into safe mode and log onto that account.
Then reset the passwords yourself.
Once rebooted into normal mode, you can then delete the other accounts.
But on my Vista, the Administrator's account was disabled by default.
This is the software he's referring to =Update:
The link i posted earlier for the password resetting program works like a charm on the two PC's I was able to test it on. I tested it on both machines with the admin accounts locked, and was able to get access to blank the passwords.
*note* DO NOT try and SET a password with this software, just leave the 'new password' entry blank. I'm not positive, but I can guess the program does not re-write the hash. It is much safer to leave it blank and change it the next time you logon.

Ultimate boot cd can blank them too - http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
Like the above user stated, do NOT enter any password in, just let it blank!

Also, if it is a used laptop, I would suggest reformatting anyway! There could be all kinds of jumk on there, especially with 3 people using it!
