Network not staying stable/win32 service crash

Post by dgood »

Ok so today I was trying to network to my bros computer in the house, being the one computer where all the exe's/programs are . My network will work fine for internet but i'm having problems connecting to computers/myself. and occasionally getting a win32 service error or something. and my .net 2.0 and 3.0 won't install so I think its a windows file problem. Any ideas on what to do or should I reformat? Only a bunch of ISOs to back up really that are important, that and music. Could my Over clock be causing it? though I rather doubt it if everything else is working great.

UPDATE: well I decided to just do it and reinstall xp x64 and now that I ran all of the microsft updates and installed .net 3.0 and such for x64 and windows media encoder 9 for x64 right off the bat, everything is running great. just make sure whenever you reformat to do that first, since later on stuff has a tendency to get corrupted or just to fail in my experience.
