Post by Jesperkatt »

Just installed XP x64 on my mb supporting raid....
but the two raptors wont raid with the drivers downloaded for x64.

Is it just me or am I missing something important?

You need to set up the array first in the BIOS, before you install anything to it, you did that, right?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if drivers for XP X64 were missing in any case, I had never ending problems when I used it, Vista 64-bit (and 64-bit flavours of Linux) have better hardware support than XP x64.

If you've already "enabled" the raid in bios , then try this ....

Depending on chipset drivers (in your case Nvidia) and driver "packages" the os sometimes will not find these drivers in these packages . I find this very common with Nvida driver packages . What ya need to do is download 7-ZIP , open the driver package (look inside) for the raid driver , then copy/paste the driver to a specific folder (of your choice) for the os to find/use it .

I had to do this method on my current system to get the (Nvidia) raid driver for XPx64/Vistax64 .

7-zip can be found here : http://www.7-zip.org
