64-bit Vista

okay well i'm going 64-bit, but i've been told a few times that XP is NOT the way to go.

so i'm thinking i'd go Vista, but which version? i've been using XP Pro 32-Bit for a long time, and i'm comfortable with it.
i don't need anything amazing, so is there any huge benefit to spending more between 64-bit versions?

Unless you need 4GB of memory there isn't a reason to go to 64bit. The drivers are very immature, and it'll be more of a hassle.

i'm going to be running Logic Pro Audio, Reason, FruityLoops, and other programs that i think would definitely benefit from the extra processing power, but i'm reading around all over the reviews on newegg and info from http://badvista.fsf.org/what-s-wrong-wi ... dows-vista and i'm just thinking this is too much of a *#&$ing headache, and i should just re-install the version of XP Pro 32-bit i already own...

bad choice of words yeah i read up on 64-bit processing a while back, and its a shame that our 64-bit processors aren't doing what they COULD be doing.

at any rate my little tirade is poofed out, and i'm going to just install my old OS when i get this built in a week.
