Microsoft Offers Free Copy of Windows Vista Ultimate if you Surrender Privacy

Need a free copy of Windows Vista Ultimate? Are you incredibly trusting of big corporations? Well I have the deal for you, with a new program through Microsoft called the Windows Feedback Program. For the small price of privacy and perhaps some dignity, you can let Microsoft watch your every move for 3 months, in return for some software of your choice. Surveys are also required, one at the start, and then another in 2 week intervals, but compared to the bigger issue those are pretty painless. Not thanks, even if I'm not eligible..........I'll keep on dual booting with XP and the version of vista that I "acquired" for now ;)

When Micro$oft release an OS worth paying for, I consider buying it!

Sucks to be out of the states, I wouldn't mind another free legal copy of vista (granted my first is business, not ultimate), but I would have really liked to have gotten office ultimate for free.

Then the BIG question, Will they really stop watching? Micro$oft has been known to update when you didn't tell it to nor wanted to allow it.

So, if the portal for this version of VISTA is Big Brother can watch you, don't expect any privacy after the trial either. The old saying of, When the door is opened, you can never close it.

MS Office is a good freebie though!

I see you can cancel this at any time and you have to uninstall the software. If you complete the 3 months, do you get to keep the software?

It's all moot, M$ is no longer offering this. They have reached the "while supplies last" limit

I signed up and ran the software yesterday! I saw no mention of "while supplies last" on anything I read.

gosh darnit. i should have read the whole thread before i jumped on it and gave away all my privacy

i hope they do this again soon, i decided to do it for DX10 capabilities and 64bit, but remembered, oh crap, it already ended

Well, when I posted it the offer was still going on... nice to see they closed the program

I got in on this while the software was still being offerend and got confirmed before their end date and time. Maybe I'll get the stuff, maybe not, no big deal either way I guess as their tracking software ison a old rig with a fresh install of XP and nothing else............
