random freezes in xp

Post by martini161 »

ok, ive had this problem for a while now. it is actually ocurring as i tyoe this. i will just be browsing the internet, or doing any thing else, and suddenly my computer for freeze for a few secconds, then beep a few times and be back to normal. as you can imagine this is extremely anoying. the mouse still moves, but windows wont do anything, like if i try to click a window, the current one will go inactive, but the one i click on wont come up, and windows wont close, but when it comes back everything i did when it was frozen comes back. ive removed all my overclocks and this still happens. i know for a fact my memory is fine so dont suggest running memtest please

That could be a lot of things. CD/DVD accessing, computer trying to connect to a router, bad video drivers, or bad network settings.

Go with DMB2000uk's advice first, taskmanger. Then take mine in order I listed them.
