vista help

Post by martini161 »

well i was in vista for the first time in god knows how long because i wanted to run 3dmark vantage. well when i get in to vista, i try to acces the folder that 3d mark is saved in (i downloaded it while in XP) and it says i dont have permision, would you like to gain permision. so i say yes, and now i cant get to any file in that whole folder and nothing i run in xp can acces any files in that folder. so i go into vista again to try to fix permissions, but my xp user name doesnt show up, so i cant give it permissions. ive tryed copying and pasting to a different folder in Vista, but it do says i dont have permission! how can i get these files back? there important, its my whole music collection im talkin about here!

Linux :)

That's really weird but I'd drop in a Knoppix LiveCD or something and get to it like that...perhaps not the 'proper' way but quick and easy.
