Back when Windows XP first came out, there was a low roar of criticism about Windows not following the traditional year naming (Windows 2000, 98, 95). However, I could see M$'s marketing angle and thought it was a decent change.

However, Windows Vista is really just retarded.... I'm really disappointed they couldn't come up with something better... Windows 2006 or Windows 06 would have been better. :?

Here's Microsoft's Announcement:

IMO Longhorn sounds much better than Vista

I think they just want to seperate it from all the public failures and disappointments associated with Longhorn

I could really give a crap less what it's called as long as it works well and it doesn't cost a arm and a leg.............. A products name doesn't make it preform any better as far as I know, but hey, I may be wrong.................. :finga:
