windows 7 freeze after being idle

I installed windows 7 pro. this weekend. got everything going well (as far as i could tell). sometimes i would come back to the comp (like when i got home from work today) and found it to be frozen, blank screen. from being used to XP, i have no idea where to look to try and find out why it would have frozen. XP had event viewer - does 7 or something comparable? everything was installed fine except for my wireless card - linksys WMP54G (no W7 drivers - had to use some generic one).

Windows 7 has Event Viewer under Administrative Tools just like the last couple versions of Windows, that should point you in the right direction

THEREs your problem
to fold on 7 you have to have every single power saving option turned off or it will hang and you'll have to restart every time you leave it idle, heres what my settings are:

so now it doesnt freeze when it has been sitting idle anymore!!! YEAH!!
new problem, it will randomly freeze when just doing random things... it froze yesterday when i opened youtube to watch that movie of the idiot that got shot with the bullet broof vest. the only thing i was doing was that. might there be a problem with the background programs? I have folding GPU, folding CPU, logmein, AVG, setpoint (logitech software), and printer driver. think there would be a problem with any of those?? i cant really find any pattern to the freezing either.

define freeze, are we talking a little lag or full on hard-lock requiring restart button or flip off the PSU?
