wipe the OS?

hey - my "friend" gave me a a laptop that best buy told em was broke and if i wanted it i can have it.. anyway i got it working and put windows 7 on it. then they caught wind I fixed it and want it back. none the less i will give it to them back but they arnt getting anything from me so i need to wipe the OS. How can i do this with out removing the HDD and formting it.

DBAN is great, u can get a version that will run off A usb drive too (or floppy)
