Hi guys,
Ok so my girlfriend was playing her game (Sims 3) and the computer blue screened.
Now this is the first one I have seen in years so some questions.
Does windows create a log when this happens?
If it does, where can I find it?
And if the GPU gets too warm can this cause a BSOD?
Will update as and when.

Re: 1st BSOD In Years
Too many possibilities to just shoot out ideas.
See if you can find a log of the error and if not run CrystalDiskInfo to make sure the hard drive is okay.

Windows 7 Log File Location:
Right Click on Computer->Manage->Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application. Look for Yellow Triangles or Red Circles. Select the Error and open the General tab. From there you can see what caused the problem. If you still can't figure it out then Google the Exception code.
Example, see screenshot (click to enlarge).

Re: 1st BSOD In Years
OK poking about in the log files (and not being allowed to open the dump files) it would seem that a bug check was the issue.
To what this actually means I have not the foggiest but so far (touch wood) it hasn't happened again.
