Most Companies will be able to side step it or not be effected at all if they're using an Enterprise version of windows!
M$, Google, FB etc.... :finga:
They are putting that requirement on the PRO version of 11 too! I think most enterprise situations would not have to have the store and such so they would never bother anyway. Home users and small businesses are the ones they are getting all the data from with this crap. So sad but Google does it to all of us android users and Apple does it to all ios users so I guess MS is tired of being at the kiddie table.
Yeah...I am running Win11 Pro!
The thought was the idea of not falling prey to the Update Dilemma created by M$! :(
Guess that's out the window now!

so i had to fully reinstall windows 11 :( my system seemed to be having issues in some games so a reinstall might fix it. I was then greeted with using an MS account to sign in with or to create one. However, there was an option for using local account but it was a little hidden. turned off all advertising location sharing and all feedback data and i'm back up and running. Just reinstalling all my games while i configure hwinfo, rtss, msi afterburner and rainmeter. Been a long day fixing all this.

The article I read said Everyone on Win11 will have to associate an account with Home or Pro!
Whether its a Local or Not eventually you will not be able to get around it! :(

Should be able to make a local account if you install without having any network connections when you start the install.

Nice! They say about the MS account being required but that was in Windows 10 also, or at least it is now. I just reinstalled 2 laptops with windows 10 and both needed a MS account to sign in and then you can change to local account afterwards. Although Microsoft still hasn't fixed the user directory crap where it keep the old ms account name as the user directory even when you change it to a local account.

I havent tried it yet. I meet all the requirements except the AMD 1700 cpu. I am worried MS will decide to screw everyone down the line and stop giving updates or block functionality. I know, I am worried over something that is probably not going to happen.....

Do you really think once they have ANY of your info, they are going to give that up?

The decision to screw anyone was made decades ago!
Sounds like its time for a new CPU! :)
Even if they block updates or functionality you can always reload win10.
My daily driver is still running win7 with ZERO issues! This post is from this rig! (AMD FX_9590)

True, they already have everything about me and sold it 1,000,000 times over to make even more money (why don't WE get some money when these companies sell OUR information).

I know on the laptops it actually changed the restore partition to windows 10 rather than 7 so maybe it will do that with 11?

It seems windows has obviously scrapped the windows 10 is the last windows and switched to a new windows os every 3 years. I also seems windows 12 will be a complete new design and built from the ground up to be unlike any windows before it :(

as Arm/RISC-V become the norm in servers, x86 will go way of the dodo eventually. Things will have to get rebuilt as it trickles down to general usage.

Apple has already started with the M1/M2.

I've seen a couple articles saying Win12 in 2024!

x86 has had a great run, but with everything, something new/better will come along sooner or later!
M$ has to keep the machine moving forward!

"In a major change to its roadmap, Microsoft is returning to its three-year plan for new Windows upgrades. The new plan means we might see Windows 12 as early as 2024. According to a report by Windows Central, Microsoft's new roadmap means new versions of Windows will ship every three years.
