Would people reccomend the 32bit version or the 64bit version, or will it not really matter?

No, and if they are caught, I'm sure they are gonna have fun with Microsoft when the go WTF? Trust me you don't want to use it. I have access to the beta network, and its not all that great. Wait a while. Its something to install and play with for a night, but not stable enough to fold on or to even use for everyday use.

depending on the build sometimes 32bit works better sometime 64bit does. And trust me don't listen to a word the Inq says when it comes to Vista they don't have a clue. Not many programs work for the 32 bit, so I can imagine its worse on the 64bit.

both are considered alot more stable now......but the 64bit has less stable drivers and no drivers for some things.
The 32bit version will run more programs........the 64bit version is supposed to be able to run 32bit progs aswell, but some programs won't install @ all on it.
The Inquirer have done some articles on their opinions.......worth reading

Yeah it was gonna be a tertiary OS install (xp, linux then vista) so wasnt planning on doing anything major on it.

I've heard that RC2 is alot more stable than RC1 so wanted to specifically try that one.

Bingo. Moon hit the nail on the head. Or hope that next week when RTM is released to the beta testers and what not they release it to the public. I highly doubt it, but MS is working with Linux

RTM is already out. Look for it. RC2 is ok, but lack of drivers for crossfire has me still on XP, mostly(altohugh now RC2 drivers are up, but i haven't booted ot that drive in a week or so). Audio is much better IMHO, in Vista. I'm actually quite surprised by the number of games that work just fine in Vista 32bit.

MSDN Subscribers yes, but windows connect users not yet.

And if your implying warez don't. Its not tolerated

Naw, I've been a MSDN subscriber almost since it started.

And i tell ya what...I used to download stuff(is legal here in Canada, to a point), and since I stopped(well over 2 years or so, not even an MP3), I have not had a single issue with viruses or anything like that.

LoL. Now that i think about it, I could havea virus, and only benhcmark numbers would let me know.

My wife's machine has antivirus stuff installed...always has issues. And hse downloads legit stuff(music, etc.)

Warez is asking for issues. I odn't need them, thanks.

"release to manufacturing"
It means it's not Bta anymore and DVD's are getting pressed, Manuals printed etc.

It was wierd... I bought a pre-RC1 build a while back, I got and tried it out. Then a few weeks ago, I got the RC1 DVD. 2-for-1, what a deal.

The reason i want to TRY this before i buy it is to decide how long to keep XP for, so far with my impressions of RC2 its not worth the upgrade for another year.

its not gonna change at all since RC2, RTM was all bug fixes.
