Vista Ultimate To Be Used on Legit Reviews

Post by Apoptosis »

Thanks to the support of Microsoft I am happy to announce that Legit Reviews will be able to use legal versions of Vista Ultimate 32-bit and 64-bit for upcoming reviews!

I just got the discs today and here is a sneak peak of some of it... Vista will be really hard to use on the test bench as minor hardware changes will require you to contact Microsoft to get the product activated. Nonetheless we have Vista Ultimate and will now be able to benchmark video card drivers and upcoming DX10 game titles with the GeForce 8800 series as well as the R600 series when the embargo lifts.

I'm also thinking about doing an article on how to do a clean install as more than likely I'll be making the jump from XP Pro to Vista this weeek. I did the same on XP (actually before it was released), so nothing new here.

VIP copy  what was wrong with a retail copy?

Sucks that something as simple as a hardware change will cause you to call MS just so you can use it.

At $378.99 a pop getting a copy for Pastor Jay (motherboards) and Wickedld9 (video cards) and myself (processors) would set the site back $1140... add in the other staff members and the bill easily tips $2,000!

Good deal, bro....I think I'm going to stick with XP Pro for a while longer...for me, it ain't broke....although it sure would be nice to unleash the 64-bit power of my San Diego chip.

Let us know how it goes.

oh, and yeah, the "mom" is kinda cute...so is the "sister" on the second shot...guess that's why they are in the picture. 8)
Just a little puppy trying to make it in a big digital world.

Are you implying that you already have one? :)

Also anyone else know why the white couple has Asian children?

My guess is the family on the cover and the asian girls on the games page are not in the same family... lol

Nah, I ment why didn't they just send you a couple retail boxes? save having to print up disc's with VIP printed on them.

I'll be upgrading within the next month or so.

I'm still a bit leery on upgrading or not. I don't want to just go spend the $200 on Vista Ultimate OEM and end up not liking the OS at all, just to go back to XP and be out $200.

It sorta looks like the kid is gonna smash her in the face (or is gonna destroy the camera) with his mallet.
