Post by The Black Pumpkin »

Has anyone ever heard of this? Supposedly it'll have DX10 support, but the only thing available info wise is a few forum threads. :|
AMD Opteron 1224SE "Santa Ana" = DFI Lanparty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G
Crucial Ballistix 4x1GB DDR2 800 = Corsair CMPSU-750TX
Sapphire 4870 1GB = Sceptre X20WG-Naga 20" = Logitech X-530 5.1
Seagate 320GB (SATA II) x2 = Samsung SH-S203B (SATA)

Do you have a link or anything? I can't image DX10 support on a non-Windows operating system.

I am a beta tester for it over at XS. from what I understand it is essential vista with a lot of junk stripped, but it uses a Unix type kernal. XSOS 2.0 was okay, except it would get beaten benchmark wise by Win2K. I'll let you guys know my impressions when I get it.

I hope I am not hijacking the thread, if you all want me to i can start a new one, but I think people should start looking into ReactOS. It is a pretty small beta project trying to build an open source OS that is fully compatible with windows applications. UNFORTUNATELY, they don't currently support SATA so my testing of it was done. I would love to see more come of it though.

sound cool, what are operating system requirements for both? I have an old athlon xp 2200+ with 512mb ram and a 9600 downstairs in my basement doing nothing since I haven't put a new windows versions on it and my retail has been registered too many times on that same computer for it to be registered at the moment had the problem before, had to call them just haven't gotten around to it. I might be interested in trying one or both of them on it. (not my gaming rig of course :) well not yet.)

If you go the ReactOS link i posted above, you can downlaod an install ISO or just the Live CD. They have compatibility information, and I guess it's still an alpha project, not a beta project, but you could possibly add to their compatibility information

It's hoped XSOS 3.0 will support DX10.
