Is there something like this in existence? I want to have my box purely linux while I leave it for the easter hols (Currently its just VMwared for folding) and was hoping that there is an easier method than dual booting, but will do that if needed. Obviously I will want to run the FAH SMP client after booting, is that possible?

Windows is far to unstable for unmanned operation. :P

I already have the first ISO from when I installed the Virtual machine. That will allow me to run linux without installing it properly (aka LiveCD)? Or is there a way to boot purely into linux from the installed virtual machine. I'm a linux noob so be gentle :P

That will explain everything.

Basically your turn on the VM like you do an OS and it runs inside the VM. Sorry it too me so long to resolve came home to a leaking rad.

I think you're misunderstanding what I am aiming for here...

I already have VMWare set up and running with the Linux F@H SMP client. But I want a quick and dirty full blown linux as my windows install keeps crashing when im not at my PC (which takes down the VMWare folding with it).

I know there are linux installs that will run off of a CD (i.e. no need for the hassle of dual booting every time) but i was wondering if any will work with the folding client.

your right I didn't understand

Um, I'm not sure if anyone has tried. I know there was a way to save settings for a Knoppix Live CD. Check and/or post here they would know http://forum.folding-community.org/

If your system isn't stable with with windows it's highly unlikely that it will be stable with Linux.

With that said I think I'd go the Knoppix route as the specilize in the Live CD Methodology

That a 64Bit OS? And part of me wanting to do this is to try and rule out hardware with the windows bug outs.
