Vista Question - Start Menu

So, I've got two vista questions, but I figured I'd break them up into two threads, so one question doesn't get burried by the other.

I recently bought my fiance a new laptop, nothing too fancy, but here are the specs:

Acer Aspire
Core Duo 1.73 GHz
1 GB DDR2 533
120 GB
Intel GMA950
Vista Home Premium

My question is, is there a way to have the look of the vista start menu, while having the program list pop out? It's hard to explain, but right now, when I click on the programs tab of the start menu, it opens it over the recent programs, as opposed to how XP does it, with the programs listed to the right of the programs button. Thanks.

With looking at mine the only way I see to do it is to go to the classic view. I changed the pictures and such to open in sub menus, but cant chage the all programs one for some reason.

Maybe someone else will know how to.

I don't want classic mode, I want it to look like it does now, but display the start menu to the right like it does in XP.
