The adventure begins...

I ordered an additional 2GB RAM yesterday. Today I ordered Vista Ultimate 64. I'm really taking the plunge here. I consider myself a power user and enthusiast, and with all the Vista griping going on, I want to record my experiences so that others may know what goes on without the hype. I will be dual booting Vista x64 and XP Professional 32-bit.
Without further ado...
Day 1
- Ordered 2GB DDR500 RAM kit
- Ordered Windows Vista Ultimate-32, using the Alternate Media Trade-In for 64-bit version.
(Please note that I will not be replying to my thread with updates, I will only be editing this post)
Day 2
- Motherboard still isn't here
- RAM is on its way to my house (I'm at college right now)
- Vista Ultimate 32-bit is on the way to my house as well
- MSI stonewalling, "System upgrade in progress, we can't tell you whether we've sent the motherboard, check with your mail carrier." I have not received any carrier information or a tracking number.
Summary: No action yet, sorry
Days 3 and 4
- Weekend, no mail
- No updates on arrival of any parts (mobo, Vista or RAM)
Day 5
- Memorial Day (Thank a Veteran Day)
- No Mail
- No updates on part shippings
- MSI = teh suck, they still don't have a tracking number or shipper name for me
Day 6
- Mail came, no mobo, more BS from MSI about "processing"
- RAM arrived at house
- Found 32-bit and 64-bit Vista compatible drivers for all devices: nForce4, GeForce 7900GTX graphics, X-Fi sound, Canon PIXMA iP1600 and MP150 and Marvell PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet. Whether these drivers work is another question entirely.
Day 7
- Mobo successfully rerouted to house (they haven't shipped, just they know not to send it to my college). Hate for MSI grows.
Awaiting mobo, nothing new today
