Linux Web Host?

Post by da_buddha »

Not sure if this is the right forum section... but it was this or the general discussion area...

I'm looking for a really good web server host that is running on a Linux system (as opposed to Windows 2000 or 2003 or Mac) that is fast, very reliable, and provides great features for low prices. Preferably including FTP support, e-mail optional, and SSH support.

Any links will be greatly helpful and I will certainly provide your name as a reference if you link me to a good one... as I know often web hosts give awesome benefits to referrers. :D Thanks!

Nothing really specific... More bandwidth they can provide for lower of a cost, the better  however if you know of a good deal whatever it is, just let me know anyway...

how much bandwidth you use really does matter... Without knowing specifics who knows... Powweb works well for sites under 50,000 visitors a month.

Are you looking for basic shared hosting, or a VPS perhaps. Basic shared can range from 5-15 bucks a month for cheap plans. For around 30 you can get a VPS which gives you full root access, so you can host multiple sites on one machine. HostEasier is a good VPS.
