In an attempt to validate my computer with CPU-Z 1.41, it fails.

Validation Failed for one or more of the following reasons:
- the support of this hardware is in beta version in the current version of CPU-Z.
- Your mainboard is known to have a BIOS with many cheats.
- Something goes wrong while validating the results.
THESE RESULTS MUST BE CONSIDERED FALSE.

CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (*1)
Freq : 2611.8 MHz (200.91 * 13)




I especially like the part where my BIOS cheats. Anyone else have the same issue?

I have in the past, but it was on flaky boards to be honest and it was back in the CPU-Z 1.37 days.

What do you mean cheats? Are you talking about the extra little performance it is giving you in Mhz? If so all boards have done this for a long time. I think they do this so when someone like Legit Reviews reviews the motherboard it may be a little faster than the competition.

I have no clue what they mean by cheats...all it says is that my mainboard is known to have a BIOS with many cheats. I don't have anything overclocked and all my stats seem to be correctly reported. My core speed came up in RED font color, so maybe they thought that was a problem or a cheat. Strange considering my cpu runs at 2.6Ghz stock.

I tried the validation 3x now and I get this same message each time. None of my components are considered new and should all be supported by now. I doubt that my Asus Crosshair would be considered a flaky board. Oh well, no big deal.

Just curious but why is it so important to validate it? I mean you have a screenshot of what CPU-Z is showing.

I did it to submit my results and compare them to other users with similar configurations. Besides that I get curious when things don't work as intended. Then I just need to know.

You don't need to validate to get the screenshot, that just gives you an ID number. Run cpu-z, select the tab you want a pic of, click print screen, open ms paint, edit paste.

I know how to take a SS. I was saying why do you need the validation if you already have a SS of what CPU-Z is reporting?
