I don't know much about Vista, but first check if you have the latest version of Skype.
Then check if your microphone is working properly, such as trying to record your voice with the Sound Recorder of windows
Then check your Sound and Audio Devices via Control Panel or something to see if there's any setting to configure the microphone.

Talking to a friend of mine who has vista 64 bit too, he is having major problems with getting a mic to work in vista, he is pretty sure its his sound card but cant afford a new one, and his motherboard doesnt have onboard..... are you using a sound card?

is the sound card completely compatible with vista? Some of the creative ones i have seen when you purchase them they ask if you are using vista because it wont run properly with it, Can i ask does the mic work in any other programs?
