I am taking an excel class in the fall and need to get office 2007. I think i am going to go with the standard (i like outlook since i am used to it at work). So the real question is, where can i pick it up CHEAP. is there some unknown non publicized place that i can pick it up?

Have you tried through your school? Most schools have some pretty decent discounts on software.

Iirc, Newegg has Office 2007 Home and Student version for $70 after coupon. No Outlook, though.

Apparently, no coupon required.

Still no Outlook, though. For the price, I suggest just getting this and using a different program for email. Even an OEM copy of Office 2007 Professional will probably cost you more than double.

Find someone that is in college and they can usually pick you up a copy for around $30. When I was at the University of Houston many moons ago I paid $7 for XP Pro and $21 for Office XP Pro.

Here's what they are charging for it at UH, which is indicative of most other student costs at universities.

If your running Vista MS's new Win Live mail client is a stripped version of Outlook, some of the higher end functions are gone. You can install it on XP box as well.
