hey,

I have a user that has "full" control to an Org Mail Box, but he cannot delete anything in it. The box is getting full and cannot recieve any more msgs. he has full rights in ADUC and on the account itself, as well as being the owner. I have tried adding myself to the account and I get even less access than he does even though I have full control in ADUC. I can add the accout but cannot open any of the child objects. I tried "drag and drop" to the "delet items" and gives me the message "Cannot move the items. Cannot coppy this folder because it may contain private items." I am completely stumped on this. please send some wisdom my way.

Thanks in advance,

James

How is the account set up in Outlook?

POP? IMAP? Connected to an Outlook server?

Is it set to leave messages on the server?

Do they have web portal access to the account?

you should be able to increase the storage limits in exchange properties in the AD to allow him to receive and send till you sort this out. deselect the "use mailbox store defaults" and set a higher limit manually. Also while in there check the exchange advanced tab and check that no special permissions are associated in mailbox rights.

also have you tried doing a hard delete (shift + Delete) on any of the items?

thanks all. found out most of the prob. was some emails that wouldnt delete so we just had to go and delete all child folders one by one then email by email in the last folder. got it 90% fixed just got to find out why the last few emails wont delete.
