Here's my delema. I had a netbook, a desktop, an iPhone, and a server. I'm looking for a application that will let me manage syncing data between these machines.
Here's how this all got started. My netbook came with Windows Vista which will not support Office XP. Thus I had to get a copy of Office 2007 (thank you educational pricing!) in order to keep my .PST files. Previously I'd been using an application from Intellisync to synchronize my calendar between Outlook XP and my Yahoo account. Apparently that application no longer works on Office 2007 so I've lost that line of backup.
Here's what I want to do. I want to sync my .PST file between my server (which will be running Outlook XP) and my netbook (which will be running Outlook 2007). This will give me a backup for my e-mail and also allow me to backup my contacts and calendar to my web based e-mail via the Intellisync application. iTunes will take care of the syncing between my server and my iPhone to keep my contacts and calendar up to date.
I've been looking at a couple programs that are designed to do this. The best I've been able to come up with so far is GoodSync but I don't know anyone who's run it or how transparent it is to the user. It does have a feature to synchronize actual folders as well which would be helpful for things like my photo collection and documents.
Any of the network admins on here messed with anything like this?
Syncing Outlook and other files.

Re: Syncing Outlook and other files.
goodsync will not allow you to backup outlook while it is open.
You can get a free program PF Backup (made by microsoft) to backup your pst file to the server whenever you close outlook.
