Anyone try out the new Avast 5. I'm only showing 2 processes after I installed it. I didn't even have to reboot.

I've been using Microsoft Security Essentials which, from what I have read, seems to be one of the best anti-virus/spyware apps you can use. It seems like when I did use Avast, there was something really annoying about it but I can't remember what.

Buddy of mine uses it, past out on his couch a couple times to be woke up by the Avast dude coming across the speakers "antivirus updated"

It is a little on the freaky side.

You can turn off the audio notifications... lol.

Why they thought people needed an announcement for that and to leave it on by default is beyond me. Makes me question their decision making.

It can also come up saying "A VIRUS HAS BEEN DETECTED" on some sites, not p0rn or anything ;)
It seems some scripts scare it.
I still use it, but with the notifications off.

It's a different voice with 5, friendlier but still a tad bit annoying.

I <3 Avast. I tried MSE for a while and I hated it. It completely deleted a couple programs out of a false positive and I was unable to recover them. At least when AVAST picked them up I had the option to ignore. Avast all the way!!!

I'll have to check out the latest version. I think mine has a woman's voice, which was pleasant, then we had a rough go at it for a while. I eventually broke up with her and disabled her voice feature, now things are going much better. She does her job and we don't have to talk anymore...wait...
