German Police Round Up More Sasser Suspects

The early fears that a criminal gang was behind the Sasser virus attacks do not seem to be justifiable. Rather, as more arrests and subsequent investigations suggest, it seems there is a loosely connected network of highly skilled teen and 20-something hackers responsible.
Looks like the feds got inside the kids box and found out who all of his friends are! Bummer for them, but it happens!

Hopefully they'll be punished based on their actions, not just seen as poor confused kids.
It's unfortunate that they choose to hack, rather than apply their talents to something useful.

I think this is a hard line. Most likly these kids were looking for a social group that understood there interest in computers and hacking. This search lead them to a group of black hats. Whos falt is it if a social group creates a malisious program. Yes they need to be punished but if we want to stop these people we need to make them feel apart of the socail structre. Less us vs. them and more we.

You have to learn to live within the legal structure as well.
Laws exist as an extension of the social structure, ie rules to protect the rights of the majority, from those that choose to abuse a totally open system, (generally for personal gain)
