question. anyone?

a friend of mine asked me to reformat and reinstall windows for him. he has windows 98se and millenium 2000pro. this is a slow machine used in his store (400mhz). I know all about win98 but never had millenium. what you guys think would be better to install on this slow rig? thanks for any input.

buy that copy of win2k off Dicca, its much more secure and will run alot better than ether ME or 98.

i ran Windows XP on a Intel Pentium 2 400MHz system with 192mb of system memory and found it to be too slow for daily use and ran into some driver issues with the old hardware (sound chip mostly).

I put Windows 2000 on it and it ran much faster. I'd go Windows 98SE or Windows 2000 Pro if it was mine.

as I said, it's not my rig. and I have a choice between 2 OS.

thanks apop. I was guessing win 98 would be more apropriate, but wasn't sure about millenium. I will put on the 98 since I know every little trick to make it work better. thanks again.
