Howdy everyone. MY firefox (1.5) has now jsut decided to crash on me. i try and open it and it goes straight to the "report error" thing that windows does. I dont remember doing anything before it started doing it. I thought it might have been the new windows update, so i uninstalled it and restarted...didnt solve. I have installed firefox and reinstalled a fresh downloaded copy, still no work.

any ideas?

Deletion of all registry trees mentioning Mozilla/FireFox may solve the problem.
Clearing the cache and a full (manual) uninstall (delete the folder if it isn't removed) may help.
Hope you backed up your bookmarks (the one thing you don't have to worry about in IE).

You have rebooted after uninstalling?
You could try system restore....any updates OS/antivirus might be lost, but can be reinstalled....
If it's enabled.....
Goto start/programs/accessories/system tools/system restore....

Thanks for the link Kerri, but when i tried to intergrate it with firefox, it would bring up the same report error message thing.

Well... I supose you could just copy the entire %Program Files%\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile folder to another computer and seeing if that works, I think that's where all the settings and bookmarks are stored.
Have you tried starting it up in safe-mode?
"%Program Files%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
