Need New Office Software
Need New Office Software
Hi Guys,
For a few years now I have been using Open Office, but it keeps crashing and is starting to get annoying.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled (to the latest version) twice now and it seems to have made things worse.
So as i refuse to pay for software (especially Microsoft), I am after a free office suite software that will do the job. I would like to have one that will save to MS office formats.

LibreOffice
Only one I can think of, unless you want to use google docs online. I really hate the idea of using online software. Maybe i am just getting old but let me have control of the stuff not someone else.

Re: Need New Office Software
Reviving a dead post.
First Google docs is ok but rather limited.
And everytime I download and install Libreoffice, it crashes halfway through installation or tells me that it failed because there is no space on the HDD which is a lie as the is over 100gb of space.

Re: Need New Office Software
the snag openoffice http://www.openoffice.org
Give that a try. That is the original before libreoffice was born due to the openoffice people going batshit crazy and not understanding open source....they seem to be back on their meds now though
Forgot, for your hard drive, run chkdsk, scandisk or some program to test the integrity of your hard drive and to check for errors. Do this now and make sure you have any important stuff backed up, just in case. I had this happen with installs to a hard drive that had some bad spots I didnt know about.

Again reviving a dead post but still I haven't been on here for a long time.
I found Kingsoft and I am now using that.
Infact I like it so much I have recommended it to others instead of MS office.

Re: Need New Office Software
thesedays I was looking for a free office suite...the first ones that I found was OpenOffice and LibleOffice...however moved on in a search for something a bit more user-friendly...then I read in another forum about a program called Kingsoft Office suite...I installed it and it turned out that it has very similar to MS Office interface...because of that it is very intuitive.. I really recommend you to try it...
Re: Need New Office Software

Been using Kingsoft, I like it. It will do what a vast majority of people need for home use, hell most businesses for that matter...

Re: Need New Office Software
Hi, everyone!
I was browsing the web today and suddenly I stumbled upon a new office suite...it is called Bell Office - http://softplanet.com/Bell-Office ... it is a bit plain to me, but it is fine, when it comes to basic editing...
