Which Paint Program

Had a friend recently ask about photo editing programs. He was looking at PaintShop Pro (Newegg has PhotoVideo Suite X6 for free after rebate right now). I haven't used that in a LONG time so know next to nothing about it.

I personally use Photoshop CS6, but that was purchased for me by my work. I know I couldn't afford to spend that kind of money to buy that myself.

What does everybody use? Pro/Cons?

Gimp - free so Adobe can kiss my arse :supz:

I use the built in windows stuff every now and again too.

Now I dont do massive changes to photos or anything like that, just some lighting correction and simple stuff. I figure if I cant take the picture good enough in the first place, why bother.

Just my 2 cents and GIMP rules lol

At home I have Adobe Creative Cloud Photography, $10 month. Gets Lightroom and Photoshop and its always up to date. https://creative.adobe.com/plans/photog ... tore_code=

At work I have the full blown CC suite that work pays for. I do all my video editing there

edit:

Above I use for photo editing, now drawing on the other hand.... I have an Wacom Intuos tablet for me, my boy has a Wacom Bamboo Splash.

My boy doesn't do much photo editing, but he does draw. For that he uses two programs, Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and Inkscape (free alternative to Adobe Illustrator)

Inkscape https://inkscape.org/en/ $free
Sketcbook pro http://www.autodesk.com/products/sketch ... o/overview $60ish

I use sketchbook on the PC and on my Note 3, as well.

edit 2 lol:

Gimp is a royal pain in the ass to use.

I'm using paint, GIMP and Photoshop CC.
In my opinion, Photoshop is always the best. But it's heavy to my CPU, while I doing Photoshop, I can't do something else
