Windows problem

Post by Merlin »

OK so I got all my new hardware in and set up and windows would not boot so I tried to repair the windows installation. I have done it twice now and both times the following errors came up during the installation process:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\INETCOMM.DLL the file did not install or is corrupt

C:\PROGRAMFILES\OUTLOOKEXPRESS\MSOE.DLL the file did not install or is corrupt

C:PROGRAMFILES\COMMONFILES\SYSTEM\WAB32.DLL the file did not install or is corrupt

After the installation I tried to install the SP2 update but recieved an error on Microsoft's site which I have sent them an inquiry about.
Anyone have any ideas IF I can fix this without doing a complete wipe???

did you try SFC?

http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

give that a whirl and see what happens. I have had luck with it in the past.

Sounds like a problem with your installation media. Get a new copy of XP on CD I had similar problems, burned a new copy on CD from a different computer, then installed successfully. Good luck.
