Firefox Tab Question

Post by bigblockmatt »

Is there a way to switch between the tabs in firefox by using a "hot-key" kinda like switching programs in windows by use of the alt-tab combo?

I cant see it being that difficult of a thing to make...then again i have not the slightest idea as to making addons or writing programs for anything.

download an add-on called Tab Catalog. Then you can hit Ctrl-Tab and it does what you want

bleh... no wonder I didn't know this shortcut... Since I primarily use a linux system, Ctrl+Tab rotates between the virtual desktops.... I use that, but I wonder if I disable that shortcut for the OS if it will start working in FF...

Well... just installed that Tab Catalog plug-in/extension and I can use the F8 toggle and the arrow keys instead of Ctrl-Tab since that still doesn't work for me on linux...

Thanks for the tips! We all learn something here!

Slightly related.

I'm currently running Gran Paradiso 3.0a1, but before that I use to like using
color tabs. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1368/

the biggest think that killed me with firefox 2 was the "broken" Alt + S. I use that ALL THE TIME! Didn't take long for me to find that fix. There was a video I saw somewhere with a few other tweaks (like tab width, etc) and I can't seem to find it now.

I use Ctrl+Enter all the time, it's a big time saver. This Ctrl+Tab is pretty nice.

One other thing is the middle mouse button click to open in a new window.

Little things make a program a lot more enjoyable.

i personally us the mouse gestures alot. i mostly use it for back and opening a new tab, but there is many other things you can set it to do.

yeah, center click to open/close windows is something I do almost without thought now. It's like an extension of my hand.
