I had the same issue with my 300GB Maxtor DM10s, its a pretty well documented fact.....I also have the firmware upgrade if anyone needs it, too bad you have the 200GB version as I've found Maxtor's customer Service to be pretty bad..... not Dell bad, but bad enough.

I think I fixed it. Someone suggested setting the HDD to delay loading after boot and I had the problem happen to me while I WASN'T OC'ing and I changed this in the BIOS at next boot and it loaded just fine. I'll need to do some more testing but I hope that's it!

I've always used a 2 sec delay. Over on the DFI forums, and at maxtor they say to update the firmware.... then Maxtor gives you the 3rd degree on why you want a firmware update....I ended up talking to 3 different tech people before they'd give it to me.

I couldn't find anywhere to DL the firmware upgrade from Maxtor. Is it something they need to actively send you?

BTW - that HDD delay fix didn't work :x :x :x :x :x

Yes and yes. It must be the incompatibility issue with Maxtor and the NF4 chipset. :x Hmmmmm...might be a good excuse to upgrade my drives 8)

Well, I backed everything up and killed my RAID 0 and split it out into 2 drives to see if that fixed the problem. Nope...now it just hangs on the DFI splash screen  However, I did find out something interesting that I'm going to test. More later...

Nope, no dice. I have sent a request to Maxtor for the firmware update. We'll see how it pans out.

i love my DFI NF4 ultra-d, but i hear as of late they are having some big problems. i guess if you have a board that you can push to 300HTT and beyond, it will have some problems as well. i donno
