The AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core TL60

Post by Groonx »

I'm asking for opinions here. Has anybody got this? I'm considering it for a notebook computer, and I'd like some input from someone who's been there.

(I don't want Intel; Intel screwed me way back when, in their marketing of the Celeron 1.7 with its 128 KB L2 cache—and I never go back to be cheated a second time.)

Anyway, here are the specs for this AMD:

AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core TL60

OPN Tray TMDTL60HAX5DC
OPN PIB N/A
Operating Mode 32 Bit Yes
Operating Mode 64 Bit Yes
Frequency (Mhz) 2000
System Bus Speed (Mhz) 1600
Wattage 31 W
L2 Cache Size 1024
Process Technology 65nm SOI
Package/Infrastructure Socket S1

Looks pretty nice. What do you think???

I worked on a couple HP laptops with this processor. With 2gb ddr2, had no slowdowns with Vista Ultimate. Ran the score testing and had like avg 5.2 on all except the graphics part (integrated). Battery life was pretty good ~1.5 hours on a 15.4 lcd laptop doing casual use (surfing the net, chatting, office 07) Runs pretty cool too.
