yeah no kidding, i was going to get venice, but after looking at the performance im getting a 4200+ yeah i know its a bit more expencive but i was looking at getting the 3700+ sandi which is only $200 less than the 4200+ if these things overclock like venice/sandi then i think its safe to say we could be looking at dual 2.7-2.9ghz and to me thats worth $500.

no kidding!

DAMMIT i wish i had money already... funny how life works. i'm going to be a chiropractor, so in the future, i wont really need to worry about not having enough money to build a new system or upgrade... however, right now, i'm broke.

Man, it's things like this that makes me very envious right now, considering I'm strapped for cash. I could most certainly go for that dual-core AMD any day. Now, what would really throw Intel for a loop, I think, would be if major mobo manufacturers such as DFI, Asus, and the sorts would come out with a dual socket mobo supporting the dual-core AMD line.....hmmm, gaming server anyone :finga:

*saves money*
I just bought my system, from what I've heard existing 939 boards just will need a BIOS flash to go dual core. Is that correct?

YAY! My Intel friends will have yet another reason to kill me.
Some things they said:
You Athlon 64-bit bastard
You suck. You and your big, powerful Athlon and I have a crappy 478 2.6GHz in a Dell....
teeehee... :finga:

Yeah, as soon as the bills are caught up, lots of money is going in the bank. I just gotta have that dual-core. And yes, in order to use the dual-core Athlon, as far as I've seen, all you need to do is update the BIOS (going with DFI here when it comes time, hee hee :) ).

Arg, I wish I would have started saving for a new system a long time ago...can't wait to build a new one sometime soon...

I'm actually quite happy with my current system (3000+@3800+ speeds)... I may upgrade to a dual core cpu sometime in the future as my current motherboard supports them, but I doubt it will be anytime before next summer at the soonest.

honestly, i dont think i'll be upgrading to a dual core for a long time.... at least not until there's a decently priced dual core that is great for gaming. i dont care too much about how fast i can multitask or do certain applications.

I'd love to have the latest and greatest, but like the rest of you, cash is slim and I'm pretty much happy with the 2 A64 S939 systems I have now.

Well if INQ was correct its looking like there will be a X2 with 2 2.0ghz and 512kb priced around $350. IMO thats not a bad price at all to get into the dual core game.

Yeah, that's true. And I most certainly wouldn't mind dishing that little out for a dual core. However, I do hope that they won't try to ream us like they did with the post week-40 Athlon XP's and lock the multiplier. I know they didn't on the Athlon 64's, but still, that kinda has my concern up, because I definitely have plans to OC this bad boy :)
