2009 saw what i think to be a comeback into the market for AMD with more and more desktops and laptops even net-books using there cpus. And finally one of the big legal battles between intel and AMD, won by AMD :) . Also the rumors of 2010 being the year of the very first fusion GPU/CPU from AMD. I would like to know what other AMD users and enthusiasts opinions are about 2010 and will AMD finally better intel in the fast growing market of information technology.

no I don't see 2010 being a big year for amd. Actually its more likely gong to be a year where they struggle to hold on just a bit longer. While the gpu market may be a huge victory for amd now nvidia will eventually (well probably maybe kinda) have an answer for the 5000 series sometime in 2010. On the cpu sides things are bleak. They are uncompetitive with 45nm core i7 parts and intel is readying the 32nm versions. Amd doesn't have any way to respond to this in 2010. Now 2011 on the other hand could be amd's breakout year. If they can release another killer gpu in late 2010 to trump nvida like they have with the 5000 series and bulldozer beats or is at least competitive with intel products they will finally have a chance to see some real growth.

Until bulldozer is released and competitive amd can only hold on and hope help arrives before the ship goes down.

In the low part segment AMD is doing just fine (if not better than Intel), both with price and quality, but is it going to stay that way trough 2010? ATI does not have any significant lead over nvidia, despite DX11 cards, and nvidia will roll out DX11 in 2010. But, with right pricing ATI will be OK.
So, in my oppinion, AMD will manage to keep their nose above the water. Nothing more. Just to "sit and wait" for bulldozer and next generation of GPUs.
