I noticed this on NCIX and talk about a sweet price cut.

You're tellin' me. I had a HARD time trying to find a 939 (AGP) board for my boss' computer. I ended up getting a PCI-e board and a new video card per his request.

Those are some killer price cuts though. I've unfortunately switched my bias towards Intel due to superior processing power! :P AMD will make a come back, I can smell it!

Sweet prices.. Back on the competition?
But i think 6000+ is just very power thirsty, but with such a price tag who cares. These prices are very tempting

Its about time.

The 6000+ is only a bit better than the Intel E6400 but was priced quite a bit higher a few short weeks ago. Now its slightly faster, slightly higher price. Makes sense.

It's not really better as the e6400 can be overclocked with stock cooler to out perform it. the architecture just doesn't have that much to offer for the 6000+ lol.

This is true. Poor AMD. I hope their quad core is better than Intel's so we can see some competitive pricing. The processor of my next rig is still up in the air. I think I'll just choose the best processor that is $450-500...also factoring OC as well.

AMD will be smarter with their quadcore since it won't be just two cores stuck onto one chip like Intel's Quad2Core. AMD calls this a duct tape multi-cpu.

Cutting prices in half can't be bad for sales, but I predict red ink starting to spread on papers at AMD offices

It looks like the customer is winning here, let's just hope this is not going to start anything that would send amd out of business
