What do you think of the 300? Is it as quiet as the 900?

My 900 is strictly for my gaming rig. The CPU and Video card are both overclocked. I run all 6 fans on high, so it's pretty loud.

The 300 only has a 120mm rear and 140mm top fan, and even on high, it's fairly quiet... MUCH quieter than the 900. I'm not sure how quiet it will be when I add another pair of fans in the front to aid in airflow.

So the 300 could use some added airflow!?!
Are you going to use the Antec TriCool fans?
I added one to my 900 and definitely like it but, they are pricey! I caught it on sale and it was still $18(shipped)
I'm running my 900 fans on low and you can hardly hear the fans at all.

I haven't given a full on test of the 300 yet with a full system installed in it. With my piece together system, it ran a little warmer than my 900, but I don't think any of the temps were ridiculous, but since the fan housings are there for drop in installation, it only makes sense to throw in a pair and see if it cools it down.

thinking of the Scythe S-Flex E fans. http://www.jab-tech.com/Scythe-S-Flex-F ... -3256.html

$13 each with quantity discount at Jab-Tech. Silent PC ranked them #2 behind the Noctua for quiet performance, but I can't afford $20 each for the Noctua's.

Nothing like coming back from the Dead!
I started this topic 12 yrs ago! Since then I bought a 2nd Antec 900, yes it got a paint job too!
The color wasnt my first choice but it was ok.
A Dark Red, some kind of Ford color from 4yrs ago! Well that got Boring real quick!
So during a recent visit to a friends body shop he showed me some cans of House Of Kolor paint he had laying around!
After drooling over a few of them I had the panels on my NZXT cube painted a Pearl Purple!
Nice color but it doesnt pop unless its under bright light.
But while going through them I seen this Tangerine Orange that caught my eye!
So since I moved the hardware out of the old Dark Red 900 into a Lian Li Lancool II,
I decided to have the dark red case painted that Tangerine!
Well when I called up my friend he said bring it over and thats when S*** went wrong!
I got there and he said, man Im sorry but i gave/sold quite a bit of those cans to someone else! :(
So we sat down and went through what he had...Damn, No Tangerine! :x
But...He had one that Jumped out at me!
House of Kolor Chartreuse Neon! So my case is getting painted!
https://www.amazon.com/House-Kolor-NE50 ... B003976154
I'm hoping it turns out nice, a little scared that it might be Too Much!
I'll post some pics whenever I get it back!

BTW...The Blue 900 from this topic is still up and running!
One of those cases I'll probably never get rid of!
I still have my first aftermarket case I bought, my Lian Li PC-75 from close to 20yrs ago!

When I "DUG" this up, I was a bit excited about a new paint job!
Its been a week and still have not heard anything, So my excitement has turned to a bit of "Hope".....
Hope it turns out nice and not too over the top!
I've already talked to the wife about some Vinyl or Sublimation ideas to tone it down if need be!

If livin' in the country means 56k or even 5mb, I'll pass! [-X

LOL - yea it is really nice for the quiet and not many neighbors but internet is stuck in the 1980's! Wonder what happened to all that taxpayer money that was given to companies to expand broadband in rural areas......

A week and no paint job - I would be getting anxious! Maybe he/she got busy or the prep time was longer than they thought to get the case ready for the primer and then paint.... :goodman:

Recently moved back into town from the boonies (closest neighbor was ~200 yrds in any direction).

I went from 10Mbps DSL (7 on a good day and kids asleep) to 200Mbps cable.... *insert holy music and gates opening*

Yeah. Hate having close neighbors again, but love the speed. Looks like Gig fiber is about to be ran through my neighborhood. Kinda looking forward to that.

We can Chalk this up to "My Luck".....
The day I dropped my case off, John was working on his own vehicle for something to do!
He told me less than an hour after I left a car came in on a tow truck! No big deal!
It was the 3 cars on the lot the next morning when he came in that put a hold on my case!
I guess my telling him "No Hurry" has come back to Haunt me! #-o 2 weeks and still no case!
With that said, Work Comes First! I'm glad hes working and making money!

Time to start a couple other projects!

A little tease for the moment, what it looked like before I dropped it off!

I'm hoping for next week, but whenever he gets time, I'm ok with that!
The red is a bit boring to me. But it was cost effective, since he didnt charge me for the paint he had laying around!
The Zalman was/is a good cooler!
Its doing a pretty good job on my A-10 7870 with a GTX 560Ti(just installed today)
