My Desk

Post by camaroguy1998 »

Came across some old pics and not sure if I've ever posted any of my desk before it became a disaster area!
This was when I first set it up, been a couple years!
I have some other pics with the lights on it!

Are those 2 pieces on the back corners for lights? I like em. It keeps the main desk away from the wall so you can still get around underneath of it if you have to.

The extensions I intended for spkrs was a good idea, I thought,
but when It came down to practical use they kind of became useless!
Lesson learned, sometime when I get the kids out of my basement and get my shop area back,
a new desk plan is in the works!
Some of the good ideas and ones I wish I had before I built this one will be on the list of must haves!
The center support has a shelf you can not see, that holds my UPS( Good Idea) but I wish I had put more thought in to it!
Its mounted low enough if I have an issue, with my monitors in place its difficult to reach!
I've had a few times the UPS alarm went off at 1-2-3am and it takes me a couple mins to move everything just to get to it!
By then I'm getting texts from the wife or daughter asking what the hell is the LOUD Beeping!
I have a new UPS that will probably get a new shelf at desk top height or at least close enough I can reach it fairly easy!

Here's a pic with the lights on!
They are multicolor/programmable!

Here's one with the first setup with computer and TV mounted!

Nice. My desk is a pile of junk all thrown on top of it :) I clean it off and somehow it goes right back to being all junked up. I think gremlins do it!

15yrs, wow, thats a long time to settle for a 4ft folding table!

I know its been a couple years but, without the LED lights($30), which I Know you won't be using...
I have less than $100 invested in the whole desk!
2x4 frame construction(Damn Sturdy, pocket hole screw construction, so no visible screws!)
and Dakota(Menard's) PreFab shelf boards for the top and support panels!
There are 5 or 6 variations of the panels so, I can change the look of the desk anytime for less than $60
