When someone is wondering what they should do to their case, it's gotta to be THEIR case. I knew these designs were all WAY overboard. However, you can get some really nice low key results. I did a friend's case all black. But it was metallic black on flat black. It wasn't even until you got into the right light that the flames stood out. Actually to me, a case that makes you say, 'WOW' and is low-key is the best.
Just pondering...
What about a machined from billet aluminum ridged front panel in a design like came on some of those Ford motors?
If I had the cash, I'd do all the panels in that method............ But damned expensive if you know what I mean......................
Anyways, I justed finished installing a new radiator to help keep this beast cool. Best thing about it so far is that the case was designed for the thing, so it was a direct bolt in and no messing around to figure out how to install it. No performance numbers yet, it's still leak testing, but I think it should be able to keep the heat from my little C2D in check.
As for finned case panels, look into metal casting! All you have to do is steal everyone's pop cans on recycling day! LOL Actually if I lived in the country, I'd might give it a serious try... can you imagine the possibilities?
A little off topic, but you might be the one who'd know... I see allot of the inside of aircraft/helicopter body parts with a greenish paint or coating on them. Is this anything special?
Yup, the green (yellow green) paint that you see on the insides of aircraft is basicly a primer for aluminum called Zinc Chromate, it bonds real well and stops corrision in it's tracks...........
Well i suppose when you finish that you can make me one?
Main Rig: C2D 6850 @ 3.0Ghz, 2Gb DDR2667Mhz @ 833Mhz 5-5-5-15 Timings , XFX xXx 8600GTS @ 730/2260 , Gigabyte Ga-945GCM-S2L
JukeBox: Currently in an Upgrade but im too lazy to do it at the moment I² keepin it real
With the new Thermochill radiator and 1200 RPM fans, it's the quietest the system has been in years. It's not the quietest computer in the house.................
For any of you that are interested, or even if you're not, here's a few pics of the exterior, it hasn't really changed all that much, but here it is all the same.

BECAUSE YOU ARE GOING......RIGHT.....RIGHT LOL
The wife, myself and son are planning on it if we can get the funds together for the trip. There is family there from both sides of the family that we need to visit.............. And lets not forget a little play time for my son and myself at quakecon.............
LOL......I don't carry it, I roll it........... And it gets lifted up into cars or whatever from the bottom. Handles would be nice if I were going to take it to Lans all the time, but the problem with handles and the way the case is designed is that they would have to be installed through the top panel and frame, making it a lot harder to remove the top. And if you were to move the handles in ward enough to miss the frame, there would be a chance of bending something with how much this thing weighs with all the water cooling gear I have installed in this thing.
Well, I got the APOGEE GTX installed yesterday, ran the leak test over nite and all is good, so the system is up and running again................ End result is (with fresh TIM) 3-4C lower load temps, with any luck I'll see a couple more after the TIM sets in...............
