U14A to Dual Layer

Hey,
I wonder if my U14A also can be flashed to dual layer burning.
Right now it dosen't matter, but when DL+RW is a new standard, I would like to flash my burner.
Anyone one with a guess ??

So far i have not found anything that would indicate that your drive can be upgraded to a DL drive. The only thing i have found is that you can upgrade the firmware to same as the DRU-510A. Even with that update the drive still seems to have problems with cheaper media. at this point i would think about selling it for $25 and buying a new burnner. You can get a good drive from liteon for ~$75 that will be faster and if you do your research you may even beable to get a $50 drive that can be flashed to a DL drive.
Right now you can get a Sony 8x DVD+/-RW DL for $67 at newegg.

id get the nec same price for so much more
havent had a single one back yet and those things sell like hot cakes
