Ok now I have the monitor, speakers, and mouse so my system is officially complete check out the difference at this link, shows a before and after picture.

3dmark01 comparison, after some overclocking

logitech G5 mouse

What is a good selling price for this computer, not including the monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers with the specs in my sig? Also it has vista ultimate and microsoft office 2007 installed so keep that in mind. I'm hoping for somewhere around $800 or more, but I don't really know that much about selling a computer.

i'll compair it to a new computer my friend bought off ebay..

He got this system for under $600 including shipping, and I personally would prefer this system over the one in your sig. I would say you might be looking at more the $450-$500 range.

Honestly though I don't think it is that inferior to the system you mentioned, considering the 9600 GT is 90% better than the 8600GTS in performance(how does he expect to play Crysis with that btw?), It probably actually does better in games. Plus with more storage and a sweet looking case, I'd say $600 would be fairly easy to get. The slower cpu and mobo dropped me $200, but I'll try and have other software like office ultimate 2007(retailed at $399), a few games like COD4 and Oblivion(i know its old but it still looks good), and antispyware programs and stuff like that ot get it back up. I am willing to put in w/e it takes to sell the computer at $800 or more now that I have seen what i could get for new parts on newegg lol.

Prices are dropping really fast since newer cpus are about to come out in q4. I say just to get BARELY to 800 range, you'd have to throw in a monitor (22-24in LCD)
and/or
upgrade the cpu to e8xxx series
upgrade to 500gb+ harddrives (maybe 2)

He doesnt use that card to play games. he bought a 8800 gts 512mb. I was just going as a baseline. I wouldnt say either computer is really hands down better that the other.. My thought was that i would replace the video card in both of them. So all else being the same I personally would take a hit on the case and storage for a better CPU and MB. When compairing a cost of $800 to $600.. have you tried to just put it up on craigslist and see what kind of offers you get at $800? - its free to list things. i've sold quite a bit on that site.

settled for a happy medium, starting at 700 on ebay. I have one bid so far, but I don't know if it's a serious bid or not, I'll just have to wait and see.
