Yep, that Celeron 430 Conroe-L is a good choice. OC the crap out of it. I'm thinking you likely wouldn't need one, though. From mobos I've bought in the past, manufacturers seem pretty good at shipping mobos with updated firmware. Your only problem would be if you get old stock.

Just in case your mobo doesn't support the E8400 out of the box, willing to sell you my Celeron for $20 shipped. I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade to an E5200. Oops, just noticed your location. Nevermind.

With XFX, I was sent an ISO file that I burned to CD and installed the latest BIOS that way. It was the easiest flash I've ever done. I didn't have to gather the tools and the latest BIOS version, etc, it was all in the ISO they sent. It was a bit of a pain because I didn't have IDE devices in my machine and an IDE cd/dvd drive was required.

I was using a Q6600 that was only seeing 1 core. Once I flashed the BIOS and reinstalled Windows, all was well. XFX offered excellent support throughout this and another issue I originally had with the board. Prompt communication and on point solutions. I would say you shouldn't have any problems getting it all woking.
