My First Build..... The Phoenix

my parents gave me one of their old computers when i came to college. well, it was the biggest POS i've ever seen, just wouldn't cut it, so i decided to start upgrading. i didn't know much about computers when i started, so i taught myself as i went along. i slowly replaced every single part, and in the end, i had a completely different machine. this is what I ended up with, and i'm still not completely done. i will be adding a blow hole on the top of my case for an 80mm fan (might add an acrylic window also), and will be adding a 5" LCD display at the front of the case (it will replace the lit up silver square section under the power/reset buttons. i'll either have a diagnostics programming running on that screen, and/or media player and visulizations. i may do some other mods, but am not sure exactly what yet. i'll update the thread when i do.

by the way, what dremel bit would work best for cutting out the blowhole?

Looks nice, but did you only put that sticker on it?
Edit: for me to fully appreciate a premodded case, you must at least manage your wires.

i don't have the time nor the tools to get into any serious mods at the moment, so for now, this is all i got. yes, that is just a sticker.

this is an older pic, i have since put in a different power supply, which has sleeved cables. it nice and clean inside.

I'm picky because im a modder. I don't appreciate premods like I should. Especially if they are expensive premods.

And as for wire management, it just looks ugly to have a nest of wires when you have a window :\ Common sense, doesnt require tools, and wont take more then an hour to make it look spotless.

yep, I totally agree.
whenever I work on someones sytem, the first thing I do is pull it apart and rewire it. they are usually amazed at how dirty and nasty it is before i do it, and how much cleaner and cooler it is afterward

Yeah, I'd agree too.

Syclone, post some new pics with some wire management.
Even though it is a "pre-modded" case, it still looks nice. Sometimes those premods jsut look awefuly hideous. But there are still a lot of ways you can mod it yourself and be able to "customize" it a little to make it unique

Just ask if you want some ideas!

Looks good, just give it some good ol' wire management lovin' and it'll be even better.
