it will measure and monitor the voltage on anything you need it to, right now i got it on my ram.
i think im gonna check my video card out and monitor the vcore and memory voltages on it to see how it does at loads.

thanks, it works on every voltage i have tried, vcore, vdimm, whatever rails i want to monitor, gpu core, gpu memory. what prompted me to do this was i was having problems for some time and didnt know what it was because it was so random and i couldnt figure out why. system would just crash or lock up out of nowhere. had nothing to do with anything i was doing at the time.
i tested all my voltages and equipment and everything was as it should be.
but i started to monitor my voltages in an attempt to find the problem that has eluded me for months.
unlike programs within the software that monitor voltage this reads actual voltage not what the mobo or software says it is.
so i monitored my vcore and had some droop but very little, i monitored my vdimm and bam i saw my voltage boot up at 2.85 run fine for sometime, then it spiked down below 2 volts, went down as far as 1.3 i think which was enough to cause a crash for sure.
so it was a motherboard problem, even though i had suspected everything at some point thru the diagnosis of it.
if i had this thing it would have saved me lots of time and teardowns.

Damn, very creative. And glad to hear it even helped you diagnose a sneaky problem! What digital display did you use? Looks nice

Your voltage dropped down to 1.3V? That is INSANE on a DDR1 platform. What motherboard did you have and what did the RMA department when you told them the voltage issue?

it was an asus p4c800e-D, i thought maybe a volt mod would help but when i examined the board closely i found that it was volt modded previously and removed. which voids any warranties from asus.
i got it on ebay and did ask if it had any mods to it and the guy said no.
it has been too long now to do anything now though.

I can see the pics fine...
Did you basically just take apart a voltmeter and put it in half of a 5.25" bay?

I can see it now. Very interesting mod. Doesnt look too safe tho if you ever bump it. :o

no, it is made specifically for this.
