I have an EVGA 780i motherboard, Q6600, and an Arctic Cooler 7 Pro HSF.
In my BIOS I have manually set the fan speeds to 100%, however, when I boot into windows I can hear the CPU fan periodically change speeds. (speeds up then slows down).
This is extremely annoying. Any suggestions??
CPU fan at 100% but fan speed keeps changing
Re: CPU fan at 100% but fan speed keeps changing
Are you certain it's the CPU fan and not the fan on the video card as it sounds like what some of the newer Nvidia cards do.

Re: CPU fan at 100% but fan speed keeps changing
yea those video card fans are generally louder than the cpu fans..i know mine is the loudest of the whole bunch when i play a game or fold(Crysis obviously makes it happen).I do know the newer Nvidia cards do change the fan speed depending on the load

Re: CPU fan at 100% but fan speed keeps changing
I have confirmed that it is the CPU fan making the noise. I have it set at 100% but I can still hear the speed fluctuate...
