PSU Issue

Post by FZ1 »

I am replacing my Corsair 620HX with the 1000HX. Swapped them out today and the mobo lights come on and when I hit the power button fans, etc start for one brief second and then stop :x I was thinking it was the 12v cable. The PSU comes with a secondary 12v cable as well so I tried that, same result. When I plug my 620 back in the 2 board connection, it fires right up. PSU no good?

Sounds like it...especially since all you changed is the psu, and it's wired correctly. ouch

This blows. I spent a lot of time on cable management etc and now I have to tear it down.

That's why my computers look like crap. I always put them together to be sure they work, then (rarely) tear them down to redo cable management. Getting ready to rebuild my gamer into an Antec 300 for a couple weeks while I do some long awaited mods to my 900 that should have been done before/as I built it.
Gamer - Thermaltake Element S | PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Black | Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3L | Intel E8400 | Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro | 4GB OCZ Reaper Ram | XFX 8800GTX | Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer | Seagate 7200.10 320GB

HTPC / Folder - Palit 9600GT 1GB Sonic | AMD Phenom 9600 | Corsair DHX 4GB | ECS GF8200A | OCZ StealthXStream 500
