New Case

I really a noob when it comes to cases, so could anyone explain in what way does it justify buying a $120 over one of those $35 ones.

Coz i was intersted in this case:

The main difference is in the build quality, the El'Cheapo cases will almost always have sharp edges and poor materials.

with the thermaltake stuff, usually alum. in construction so that raises the price a little, also you're paying for a little for the name too.

If you think that is high look up a silvestone TJ-03, think they are pushing 275, some of the lain-li cases are up there too.

So u mean, i'm paying $85+ for them to shamfer off the sharp edges, and for them to stick their logo on, plus i'm not even getting a psu with the case.

Sounds a bit batty to me

not all ways, a good case that comes with a psu would be the antec sonata II. Its in the 90-100 range. Any more I look for a case with out the PSU, due to the fact that I'm most likely going to replace it with a high end PSU anyway.

remember 99% of the time you get what you pay for in the realm of PSU's

here is current version of the case I use, the thing is a tank, weighs almost as much due to the fact its all steel. I got 6 years out of the 350w psu that was in it.

thx for the help, so i think i'll stick with one of those cheap ones and use the money i saved on something that really matters, a quality psu.

have any PSU recomendations for a rig with:

E6300
Asus P5b-E v1.2
8800 gts 300mb
2x1 gb patriot ram
2x250 GB Segate HDD
2 optical drives (dvd rw)

I think Coolermaster cases are good quality, and are cheap. Although the tray design can be dated.

Also, that Thermaltake case is a Full Tower, as opposed to a Mid-Tower. So you are also paying for a bigger case.
