I don't let my PWMIC ever get anywhere over 60 and are typically ~50 under load (dual primes). I run 2 monitors which is nice so i can game or work on one while wacthing the temps on the other via smartguardian.kenc51 wrote:Sweet! Your case temps WILL come down alot....but be carefull as the components near the cpu will get hotter.....
Since your using the Lanparty board, you shouldn't have to worry too much.
The mosfets (voltage regulators) on the DFI board are spec'd to run @ upto 105C instead of the normal ~80C --> keep an eye on temps as always!
(I try to keep my PWM IC's below ~70C under HEAVY load! -> averages around ~50C)

I've forced myself NOT to get to anal about temps!
CPU's will run fine @ ~60C -> I water cool mine mainly for the low noise (temps still stay ~43C)
I have 1 fan in my case which is attached by cable ties to blow air over my ram (@ 3.2v) -> It's pointed slightly towards the PWMIC area but I need air over the RAM, and I'm not adding another fan beacuse of noise!
(I used to be able to sleep @ night with pc on, only way I could tell it was on was by the light
Now the noisiest part of my case is the PSU, which can be heard in the middle of the night
but 600W is worth it!)
:next goal is a HTPC built around Yonah, I'd say 6mth b4 mobo's will support it - Also I'm giving my SLIDR mobo to a mate for his new pc, so DFI Expert will be my new mobo, it uses 4 phase power design so the PWMIC area stays cool
